Dedicated to quality service. Auberge Gisele Limited was founded as a family business and continues as such. In 1956 a spacious family home, situated on a four acre site in Baddeck with a vista of the Bras d'Or Lakes, was converted to a warm, efficient tourist lodge. Effective management and a strong commitment to quality service had a positive impact on the tourist market.
Only four years after opening, business custom had grown to justify a modest expansion. Auberge Gisele increased the size of its physical building by constructing four small cabins on the site adjacent to the main lodge. In 1966, the business was incorporated and four motel units were built with an additional two units added in 1968.
Current operators, Hans and Helen Sievers, bought control
of the company from Hans' mother in 1976 and added a 52 seat dining room to
the
original
main lodge. In 1979, a modern 16 unit motel was erected on the site thereby
creating an aggregate twenty-six available units.
In 1988, because of the demand for more first class dining in the area, the main lodge was enlarged to accommodate 38 more seats in the dining room as well as a completely new entrance and lobby.
In 1990, the ten older units were removed and in their place 44 well appointed, air conditioned and tastefully decorated units were added in the newly constructed building complete with elevator, sauna, whirlpool, and conference rooms.
The year 2000 brought us to 25 years in business as we continue to provide four star service to our guests into 2006.
We hope you will join us for a stay at Auberge Gisele's Country Inn.
